Carlos Santiago is a finance professional and community volunteer who has called Newburgh home for nearly 30 years. He brings decades of experience in the banking and credit sectors to the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh (HFHGN) Board of Directors. Currently serving as Vice President of Commercial Credit at Ulster Savings Bank, Carlos joined the bank in early 2023, where he focuses on supporting local businesses and community development.

Carlos began his career on Wall Street, holding positions at prominent firms including Merrill Lynch, Lehman Brothers, and Goldman Sachs. Following the financial crisis, his expertise was utilized at Freddie Mac, where he played a role in the stabilization and recovery of the housing market. Prior to his current role, he served in various leadership capacities with both commercial and residential lenders. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Cornell University, as well as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

A strong believer in HFHGN's mission of building homes, communities, and hope, Carlos understands that stable housing is the bedrock of a thriving community. Outside of his professional life and board service, Carlos is married to Beth Stradar, and they have three grown children (Jack, Nora, and Tom). In his spare time, he enjoys traveling and playing tennis. He is committed to contributing to the revitalization of the Greater Newburgh area and ensuring that more families have the opportunity to achieve safe and affordable homeownership.
