Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh is dedicated to providing safe, decent, affordable housing in partnership with hardworking families in need. Reaching across religious, cultural, and racial boundaries, we seek to restore a sense of community with the common goal of strong neighborhoods and dignity through homeownership.
Habitat succeeds in reintroducing into neighborhoods the most basic building block of any community - the homeowner. Habitat provides resources, guidance, and hope to aspiring families. These families work from within their neighborhoods, creating the change we all seek, and repaying the investment that we have made in them.
Habitat Newburgh believes that homeownership strengthens families and communities. Studies confirm that homeownership results in significant social benefits such as higher rates of students staying in school, increased educational achievement, and fewer health risks for children and adults. Furthermore, it builds strong and sustainable communities through increased civic participation and a reduction in crime. Everything Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh does is a positive and sustainable answer to a family facing these social issues and to this community.
