2012 HOME BUILDERS BLITZ

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh partnered with the Builders Association of the Hudson Valley and the Newburgh Community Land Bank to build 2 simple, decent and affordable 4 bedroom homes at 45 & 47 Chambers Street in 5 days, June 4 -8 (2012).

Nearly 100 local contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and other donors offered their labor, material, or donations to support the building of these two homes.

Angelo Ferrante of Hudson Valley Contracting Group served as the volunteer leader of the Blitz Build week; Ian Rieger of Rieger Homes, Inc. was the volunteer leader of the pre-build portion of the project; Andy Stahl of Hearthstone, who led the Extreme Makeover Home Edition project in Orange County served as one of the volunteer house captains; and Bob Colucci of Ultimate Homes was the other volunteer house captain.  They gathered subcontractors and suppliers to obtain materials and professional labor for the build, and oversaw the building process.
